About the Golden Retriever

Golden Retrievers are beloved family dogs known for their warm, gentle temperament. In India's hot climate, their dense double coat makes them prone to overheating — air conditioning or fans during summer are essential. They need significant grooming but reward owners with unwavering loyalty.

Temperament

gentletrustworthykindconfidentpatient

Exceptionally gentle and patient — rarely aggressive. Loves to carry objects and retrieve. Can suffer separation anxiety if left alone too long.

Care & Grooming

Brush the thick coat 4–5 times per week; daily during shedding season. Trim paws and ears regularly. Keep them cool in summer — exercise in early morning or evening only. At least 60–90 min of daily activity.

Nutritional Needs

High-quality large-breed kibble with joint-supporting ingredients (glucosamine, chondroitin). Feed measured 2x daily — Goldens are as food-motivated as Labs and equally prone to obesity. 2.5–3.5 cups per day for adults.
